Privacy and Cookie Policy
How Psychdom collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal information.
Who we are
Psychdom (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides educational relationship, personality, career, and work-style reports and resources. Earlier Psychdom services also included astrology-style reports. This Privacy and Cookie Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use our website and services.
What this policy covers
This policy covers information collected through:
- Our website pages and forms
- Report purchases and payments
- Report delivery by email
- Customer support messages
The information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on the report, we may collect:
- Contact details: name and email address
- Report inputs: questionnaire responses and free-text prompts
- Relationship information you choose to share for couples reports
- Communications you send us, including support emails and feedback
Historical records from earlier services may also contain birth dates, times, and places that participants supplied for those reports.
Sensitive or special category information
Some report inputs may be considered sensitive, including information relating to mental well-being, relationship difficulties, or other personal topics. If you choose to provide this information, we will treat it with extra care. For EU and UK users, we generally rely on your explicit consent for processing special category data.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we may automatically collect:
- IP address, device, and browser type
- Approximate general location
- Pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions
- Cookie identifiers, as described below
Legal bases for processing in the EU and UK
If you are in the EEA or UK and the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases:
- Performance of a contract: to deliver the report you request
- Consent: where you opt in, and where explicit consent is required for special category data
- Legitimate interests: to run, secure, and improve our services, balanced against your rights
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the service, including website and form hosting, infrastructure and security services, data storage and workflow tools, email delivery providers, and payment processors.
We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, to protect users and our business, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or asset sale.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies for core site functionality, security, administrative access, and fraud prevention. We also use privacy-limited first-party pageview measurement to understand aggregate readership.
On public pages, measurement may also be provided through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Ahrefs Web Analytics. We do not enable Google advertising storage. We do not load Clarity or Ahrefs measurement for visitors identified as being in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and Google measurement is placed in restricted, cookieless mode for those visits.
Private report, administration, and API routes are excluded from external analytics.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above:
- Report inputs and generated reports: typically up to 24 months after delivery, unless you request deletion sooner
- Payment and accounting records: typically up to 7 years where required for tax, accounting, or legal obligations
- Support communications: typically up to 24 months
We may retain information longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, and alteration. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk and limit access to authorized personnel and providers only.
International transfers
We may store and process information in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and Australia, depending on where our service providers operate.
If you are in the EEA or UK and your data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we take steps designed to protect it, including recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where appropriate.
Your choices and rights
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.
EU and UK rights
If GDPR applies, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California rights
If you are a California resident and the CCPA or CPRA applies, you may have rights to know what information is collected and how it is used, request deletion with applicable exceptions, correct inaccurate information, opt out of a sale or sharing as defined by law, and exercise your rights without discrimination.
Australia
If the Australian Privacy Act applies, we aim to manage personal information openly and transparently and provide access and correction rights consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Children
Psychdom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will take steps to delete it.
